  The Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education has initiated steps to address the withholding of over 25,000 candidates’ results from the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), which has impacted students across the country. The Sierra Leone Examination Committee, tasked with overseeing the integrity and fairness of national exams, is set to convene a critical meeting on November 5th and 6th, 2024, to thoroughly investigate the reasons behind the withholding of these results. This review process aims to provide clarity and determine the best course of action for resolving the issues, which range from suspected malpractice to administrative errors.
